What Does Kindred Do?

Kindred Healthcare provides Post-Acute and Long Term Care. Most people have no idea what that means, and in 2011, I set out to find the stories that bring Kindred’s unique value forward.

Kelly Downing, from Nashua, NH, was one of 600 of those stories. Kelly was paralyzed from the neck down. After months of looking for solutions, she found Kindred when her brother saw this success story video from Houston. After her recovery, she also wanted to do a video because she wanted to thank all of the people responsible for her care. This video led to her appearance on the Katie Couric Show— earned media. That led to Kelly’s testimony in front of the U.S. Senate regarding Chronic Lyme Disease and the generation of goodwill from lawmakers. I shot and produced this story.
